Partner-submitted: How can technology and digital tools be leveraged to enable young women to protect themselves and counter online harassment and abuse?

Internet usage in Pakistan is increasing day by day, in large part due to economical mobile internet packages and an influx of cheap mobile phones. As a result, a large percentage of new internet users are young females. However, with a lack of appropriate protective laws, cases of online abuse and/or sexual harassment are increasingly common.

The concept of digital/online communities in Pakistan is yet to take off, so currently there are no community groups/platforms available to help victims collectively take action against perpetrators.
