Develop Content to Educate the Society

No doubt there are many people who are passionate enough to improvise Education in Pakistan.
What do you guys thinks about the idea to create a community to develop "content" (syllabus/curriculum/books - whatever, you name it) and improvise it in a collaborative manner.

[To further clarify it] There is usually less participation by "society" in actual development of curriculum that is being taught schools/madrassa etc. This means we get educated by someone else's ideas, what if we take this power back into our hands ?

I am not proposing that immature people should be allowed to create textbooks, unchecked. But let's make TextBooks more collaborative and up-to-date. What do you guys think ?

This can help in Adult Education also, we will invite good teachers that we know personally to help us in this project.

    Adult education is one of the most important thing! unless we educate those who think their learning time is passed, we will still end up with a non-educated youth.

    My thoughts exactly. Just yesterday, I uploaded the compiled 2006 curriculum online (https://github.com/govdotpk/education/tree/master/curriculum).

    For development, I was thinking more along the lines of a collaborative curriculum and textbook wiki. Invite educators, writers, designers to contribute. Publishers could just format the content into books.

    No doubt, this is a good idea. We are really bored about our traditional syllabus that will never change I think. Let's step forward now.

    There is a need of mapping professions on the eco-system of education lines (specifically speaking, which subjects to read). Example: If you want to be a nurse, you don't need to study physics or chemistry. Supposedly you put such curriculum and courses online, a car mechanic can come back and figure out the chain of subjects he should be knowing, like physics to torque to engine combustion and electrical systems. This is very relevant to adult education, and will broaden the scope of such exercise to a great extent.

    good idea .. there are so many ways of doing this. i guess it should b implemented. we can make sections by age or by grade something like that and in each section we can provide data/content according to that specific section
