Proposal: (Real-Time Traffic routing/analytics using Computer-Vision.) Can someone [@organizers] arrange the video-footage/stream from Islamabad's new surveillance cameras (Safe City Project)?

I want to use the video-data/camera locations to develop a prototype for real-time traffic surveillance and analytics using vehicle-detection and recognition.
I'm already working on a technically very similar pipeline and with a team (I'm looking for) can get an vehicle tracking/recognition prototype set-up in 24 hack-hours and deploy it via the SaaS model.

If the video-stream is not available.
We would at-least need the exact locations of the cameras so we can get started with some random traffic video's mapped to real camera locations and prototype and deploy a traffic monitoring system including

- Traffic routing and congestion control
- vehicle type classification
- suspect vehicle tagging
- Anomaly detection
- (endless other use-cases)

Please let me know if the above mentioned data are possible to obtain, which is a key factor for it to be of any practical use to our city.

P.S: Its just an idea. I'm open to other ideas too, please let me know if I could be of use in something you're thinking of. hit me up.

    hmm nice idea dude data will be issue if some how we get data then we can think how and what we can do with data in domain of this project.

    any idea what is already deployed in the interior ministry? I believe they are also doing some post processing of videos.

    yes i got some news that they outsource the project in some million $$ exactly ab yad nai ha..

    The Proposal could generate a lot of data across the city that could be analysed to solve a wide spectrum of problems and provide insights. for instance by just simply counting the different types of vehicles, commuting patterns to areas of islamabad can be better understood. Behavioural insights, anomalies can be detected. etc

    The govt have already invested 13 billion Rupees in this project!

    Since the expensive hardware is in place, all we need access to data for civic hacking. for what I know such data is available in places like NYC. we have a similar infrastructure now, lets move towards a smarter city with big data.

    For your project, a sample population would be needed. Bahria Town is a pretty smart community and might be interested in installing such devices on their entry gates.
